It's not that your kid is "bad." They want control they're not ready for.
Refusal and defiance is the most common struggle at this age — because kids crave independence long before they have the judgment to handle every decision. Here's where it shows up, and what the mat does with it.
Says "no" to basic directions
Simple asks turn into standoffs. On the mat, listening isn't optional — and coaches make following directions feel like winning, not losing.
Argues with adults
Every instruction becomes a debate. Wrestling teaches respect for the coach and the process — structure your kid actually buys into instead of fighting.
Deliberately does the opposite
Tell them left, they go right. We give that strong will a place to push — against drills and effort, not against you.
Ignores repeated instructions
You've said it five times. On the mat, focus and self-control are the whole game — and the discipline follows them home and into the classroom.
We don't break the strong will. We give it somewhere to go.
Real families. Real change.
From the mat to the dinner table — here's what local parents notice after their kids start at Little G's.
"Refusal and defiance were some of our biggest struggles at home. Our son would often argue, shut down, or refuse to follow directions. Since joining Little G's, we have noticed him becoming more respectful, more willing to listen, and less likely to give up when he is corrected. The coaches are firm, patient, and encouraging. He is still growing, but the improvement has been amazing to see."
"My 5-year-old was nervous at first, but Coach Harris made him feel comfortable right away. He now looks forward to wrestling every week. We have already seen a big improvement in his confidence, listening, and coordination."
"Little G's has been a great introduction to wrestling for our son. The coaches are patient, encouraging, and know how to keep young children engaged. He is learning discipline and having fun at the same time."
"This program has been exactly what our 6-year-old needed. He gets to move, learn, and burn off energy in a safe and structured environment. He comes home excited to show us the new skills he learned."
Tuesday & Thursday mornings, all summer.

The questions every parent asks first
Real answers to what's actually on your mind.
My kid won't listen to me — will they listen to a coach?
Many children respond differently to a coach, a structured environment, and positive peer expectations. Kids who push back hardest at home often do better with clear structure and the energy of a group — a different setting and a different authority, with listening habits that can carry back home.
Will you be too hard on my strong-willed kid?
Never. The goal isn't to break the strong will — it's to give it somewhere productive to go. We're firm and consistent with boundaries, but it's encouraging and fun. Defiant kids usually thrive here.
Is my little kid going to get hurt?
Safety is the whole point at this age. Classes are beginner-only, fully supervised, and run on mats with techniques scaled for 4–7 year olds. It's controlled and coached — not a rough free-for-all.
Is wrestling too aggressive for this age?
It's not about fighting. For this group, "wrestling" means confidence, coordination, self-control, and discipline — taught through games and structure. The toughness comes from doing hard things, not from contact.
My kid has never done a sport. Are they too far behind?
Not at all — this academy is built for total beginners. All skill levels welcome, zero experience needed. Many kids start here as their very first activity.
Is it worth $130 + $35?
That works out to roughly $16 per session for real coaching — cheaper per hour than most summer camps, with discipline and self-control that don't end when summer does.
Turn the "no" into "watch me."
Give that strong will somewhere to go this summer — discipline, respect, and self-control your kid will carry home. Class sizes are limited.
